This is a great opportunity for members to do some networking and we would also like to offer each member in attendance a special Christmas gift!

If you have guests that would like to attend and are interested in joining the club, then we urge you to bring them along. They should join the club at the event and then we will only bill them from next year.

We would like to invite you to a Christmas Cabaret night at the wonderful Ultra Lounge at the Stilwerk in Berlin. This will be a wine and dine event. Kim Eustice, Berlin's most popular Australian cabaret act, will perform for us at the event.
The Stilwerk is one of Berlin's most exclusive design shopping stores. Our host, the Ultra Lounge offers concerts nightly throughout the year. Kim Eustice will present her solo cabaret show "Winter in Wodonga", an all original-material show performed in a witty, satirical and entertaining manner, exploring the fate of an Australian living in Berlin!
A Christmas greeting will be offered by our guest of honour Princess Elizabeth Bagaaya of Toro, whose recent book release "The Odyssey of an African Princess" will be presented during the evening.
Guests will be served with a glass of Aldridge Estate Sparkling Brut from Victoria, Australia and the following menu will be served precceding the show.

We would like to invite you to an after-work business wine-tasting party with special guest Ben Gould, winemaker of the boutique Deep Woods Estate in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. This will be a casual event to be held at the Mitton Wines cellar near Hackescher Markt, Berlin-Mitte; Ben Gould is flying in specially for this event.
Deep Woods Estate is a boutique winery located on Commonage Road, Yallingup in the northern corner of the premium wine-growing region of Margaret River in Western Australia—close to the resort town of Dunsborough and the famed surf break at Yallingup (an aboriginal word meaning "place of love"). The winery was awarded five stars by wine writer James Halliday, the reds earning 94 tasting points.

We would like to invite you to an exclusive wine-tasting event with special guest Rhys Eather, winemaker and owner of the boutique Meerea Park winery in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The event will be held at the Australian Embassy; Rhys Eather is flying over especially for our week of tasting events in Germany and the Czech Republic- see below for other dates and locations.
Meerea Park is a family owned winery in the Pokolbin region of the Hunter Valley producing premium handcrafted wines. Rhys Eather has established a reputation over the last decade as one of the leading boutique wine producers in Australia, having won over 300 wine show awards including 4 major trophies at national and international wine shows in the last 6 years. The Hotel Intercontinental Berlin will be hosting a Tasmanian wine and food promotion in September. The launch and highlight of this culinary week will be a “Tasmanian Gala Wine Dinner and Concert” on 28th September in their Grand Ballroom with wines from Meadowbank Estate.
The Meadowbank wines are amongst the finest in our portfolio. Vines were first planted on the Meadowbank property in 1974 when only the inspired and brave lovers of wine were beginning the renaissance of the Tasmanian wine industry.
Guest speaker Tim Lockwood, Marketing Manager for Germany of the Australian Wine & Brandy Corporation will present the regional characteristics of Tasmanian wines. Guests of honour will include Daniel Sloper, Deputy Head of Mission of the Australian Embassy Berlin and his wife Dr. Fiona Webster.
Internationally acclaimed musical group “Naked Raven” will perform during the event. Recent sell-out shows to audiences across Europe have attracted rave reviews for these Australian musicians with their divine blend of strings, percussion, piano, acoustic guitar and vocals. Join us for our annual wine and dine cruise down the River Spree, enjoying some of the best white wines that Australia can offer, dining on fresh and succulent Greenland prawns and fresh summer salads. What a great way to idle away a summer’s evening and meet some new friends and business contacts!
We have picked three wonderful white wines from our portfolio and these will be tasted in turn as we take you through Berlin on an open topped (with covered dining area) and cosy cruise boat, “La Belle”. To complement these wines, we will serve a dinner of fresh prawns and a selection of summer salads.
Our cruise boat, “La Belle” will pick up at 18.45 by the Bundespressestrand station on the Spree and then we will do a sight-seeing tour around Berlin whilst wining and dining until 22.30. Past events have been a huge success and we organise this again this year due to continued interest from members and guests alike. In this heat, we couldn’t think of a better night out!

Club Vivanova will be hosting our next event at a wonderful Thai restaurant in Berlin-Prenzlauerburg. We have managed to book the complete front terrace of the restaurant to offer you the chance to eat, drink and network in the warm evening weather. Food and wines will be served from 19.30 until 22.00.
A specially prepared Thai and Indian buffet will be available including chicken soup with coconut milk and lemon grass, assorted spring rolls with spicy sauces, baked chicken wontons, stir-fried tofu and spring vegetables with oyster sauce, Thai red curry with chicken and eggplant, basil and lime leaves and traditionally prepared Indian fried beef. We would like to invite you to a wine launch and networking event at the Stretch Berlin-Australian Bar in Berlin-Mitte in conjunction with the diplomaten.net group and the Karen Davis Agency for International Communications. Our party will take place at the hof-terrace of the Stretch Bar near the Gendarmenmarkt, which backs onto the historical buildings of the KfW. The terrace will be set-up exclusively for our promotional party.
The Jade River wines have recently arrived on the German market and are produced in Western Australia using local grapes from premium wine-growing regions including Margaret River, Geographe and the Great Southern. The wines are bright, fresh and fruit-driven, designed to be consumed as young wines for easy-drinking.
For your enjoyment, we will be showcasing the Jade River Classic Dry White 2004 (Riesling and Verdelho blend) and the Jade River Shiraz 2003. An assortment of gourmet cocktail snacks will be provided during the evening.

Another excellent Magnificent Seven Shiraz evening, this year at the Intercontinental. Over 50 guests attended, including the Australian Ambassador, Her Excellency, Mrs Pamela Fayle with her husband David Fayle and the Western Australian Agent Noel Ashcroft. Tim Lockwood from Wine Australia also attended as well as Daniel Lutzemann from New World Gourmet who was responsible for the exotic wild hibiscus flowers served with the Aldridge sparkling wine.
As with the previous years, this was a blind tasting of seven Australian shiraz wines that accompanied a delicious menu. The wines were served at intervals with prizes for the guests who could correctly pick each wine. It proved to be difficult with no outright winners guessing all seven shiraz wines. There were three guests who were each able to pick five from seven wines, the guests shared prizes which included a dinner for two at the Intercontinental, a selection of fine Shiraz wine from Mitton International Wines and a weekend with a rental car.
On Wednesday 15th March at 19.30, Club Vivanova will host the much-anticipated and exclusive tasting of our seven best Australian Shiraz wines. The event will take place in the Bellevue Room of the Grand Intercontinental Hotel Berlin. Our guest of honour will be Her Excellency Pamela Fayle, the Australian Ambassador to Germany, Switzerland and Lichtenstein. This exciting event will offer you an insight into the wonderful Shiraz wines of Australia.
The evening will begin with a glass of Aldridge Estate Sparkling Brut, uniquely served with Australian Wild Hibiscus Flowers, just wait until you try this amazing concoction! We will then take you through the history, wine-making styles and regional differences in the wonderful Shiraz wines that are produced in the various areas of Australia.

Our second event in February will be a gourmet wine dinner with an Australian art presentation at Timm's Restaurant, Schillerstrasse 20, Berlin-Charlottenburg. A suite of seven framed prints of enlarged Australian stamps from the 1977 Queens Jubilee Edition will be presented by Gitte Weise. Tickets will cost EUR 45 per person (EUR 40 for Club Vivanova members).
170 guests attended the fabulous Franz Schubert concert in the sculpture gallery of the Kultureforum. This event was the product of a lot volunteer effort on part of business and participants including Frank Dodge of Spectrum Concerts, Club Vivanova, Kaiser Friedrich Museum Verein, Steinway and the Intercontinental, Berlin.
The musicians, Priya Mitchell on Violin, Christian Poltéra on Violincello and Kathryn Stott on Piano enchanted with three pieces from Franz Schubert. During the break and at the conclusion of the concert, the gallery was open for the guests to enjoy. To conclude an excellent evening in musik and art, attendees were able to participate in a wine tasting of four Mancini wines including the Mancini Shiraz Cabernet (Riverina, Australia) which recently had an outstanding review in the FAZ newspaper (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung 4.2.2006).
Our first event in February is in co-operation with Spectrum Concerts. This will take place in the Gemaeldegalerie at the Kulturforum near Potsdamer Platz where a wonderful Franz Schubert concert will be followed by an Australian wine tasting. Tickets will cost EUR 12 per person.
It was wonderful to have 60 guests attend the Single Malt Scottish Whisky tasting in the cosy Vox Bar. Bernie McGee (pictured 3rd from the left) proved to be a real Scotsman, full of character and with an excellent Whisky knowledge. Bernie was our host for the evening guiding us through 6 Single Malts with special insider information on each whisky including the history of the distillery and how each whisky has its own personality.
One of the highlights was the 1993 Furan lle Reserve of Islay Single Islay Malt which was described as being a 'single single' malt as it is not comes from one distillery but from one single barrel... and has a very limited number of bottles released.

We would like to invite you to our first Club Vivanova event of 2006. We will be hosting an exclusive single malt whisky tasting at the distinguished Vox Bar of the Grand Hyatt Berlin on Wednesday 25th January at 7pm.
Scotsman Bernie McGee, a single malt whisky expert and in full kilt, will take
us on a tour of the Scottish whisky regions from the Highlands to the Lowlands, Campbeltown and the islands of Arran and Islay. Bernie will explain the differences in regions and flavours and there will be a tasting of the following distinctive six single malts. Speciality cheeses and complementing amuse bouche will be prepared by the Grand Hyatt Berlin Vox Head Chef Pablo Lohele.
